but is it enough for democrats to wake up to the fact that this is not the old democrats party or that their trump derangement was a poison that was fed to them?
i am not sure. i live in the disgusting state of california and the state of peoples ignorance is phenomenal. no amount of reason can penetrate the brainwashed people here . i hope your words resonate
Well since Lefties tend to play in alternative reality where boys can become girls, it does become hard to believe anything you say as actual “facts.” So… is MAGA brainwashed? Or just perhaps they live in actual reality while everyone else have fallen into LaLa Land. When you can’t tell me what a woman is, you don’t get to claim that you have facts and reason I your side.
Good analysis here Abigail. Republicans can rant on her DEI hire , her ethnicity , her sleeping her way to power . It might all even be true. But it reminds me of an American general to his N Vietnamese counterpart after the Vietnam war . The American general said “ You know we never lost a battle to you “ the Vietnamese response “ Yes and it was irrelevant “
Great thoughts Abigail. The internal messaging must not be the external messaging. I am amazed of the nice young women I know who are fawning over Kamala and most of them are working moms with school age children. Mostly, I think it just exposes their political ignorance as they opposed to most of the Democrat agenda but to them Kamala is a kind and competent achiever whom their daughters should emulate. If you ask them about most of the position that Kamala campaigned on in 2020, they are opposed to most of it but they are quick to lap up the current lies about what she has suddenly turned into. It doesn't make me feel comfortable at all about November.
In what way were the Republicans “had”? They were instantly wary of a switcheroo the second that Biden started to stumble badly in the debate, and the idea of a coup against Joe was solidified within seconds when the MSM started their orchestrated hand-wringing over how bad it looked for him. The Trump campaign held its fire and didn’t waste money on anti-Biden ads during the spring and early summer. They were savvy enough to wait and see who was going to be the actual nominee.
I think that you are buying the media’s interpretation and spin on most of these issues. You have to realize that this is an all-out propaganda war and they are going to do their best to make it seem like Trump/Vance attacks are backfiring, and that Harris is doing great.
So disappointed that there is ZERO, NADA, NOT EVEN ONE L’iL MENTION of the one candidate that I believe can reunite our country - RFK Jr.
Stop censoring him y’all who I have had great respect for (yes YOU, Abigail!)
8-5-24 Edited and expanded my comment:
I’m determined to stay levelheaded in this craziness. I know RFK jr is not perfect, but I refuse to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I wasn’t a fan and through my whole life, I’ve been a “dyed in the wool liberal.” I never thought I would leave my tribe, but the gender ideology really got me paying attention and I had to leave my liberal tribe and find a new one. I’ve had a deep respect for Abigail’s “Truth Fairy and Bari Weiss’ “Honestly” and “Free Press” and I am shocked beyond words that my “formerly” non-censoring “new tribe” are giving “no voice” or worse - “negative voice” to RFK jr. I just don’t get it. I just don’t know how I can stay afloat in this sea if the voices that I have come around to trust as alternative voices to the two-party system (that I feel is fully broken and I can’t trust any longer) have become censorist. If the voices here and on Bari Weiss’ platform are not even giving JFK Jr the time of day (or worse yet - negative PR) - I just don’t know where to go. These blog spaces have been my solace where the “new thinkers” dwell with kindness, respect and courage. Where oh where are “my people” in these threads?
I agree with you. He was the most intelligent and well reasoned candidate in the mix and it’s predictable but a tragedy nonetheless how quickly suppressed was his message. He was the butt of the joke from the beginning with the “alternative media”. I constantly hear from people who consume a lot of partisan media that he’s an “anti-vaxxer” or a “climate communist” or a “drug addict” which makes it clear how little people really dig into these candidates. He is of course none of those things and the most physically and mentally fit of the pool. Such a damn shame. He would have been really great.
The main thing that happened is that, just like in every.single.other.election, people were bombarded with the whole “stakes too high to risk it” lie. It immediately leads people away from candidates not aligned with either of the two parties. And with the level of TDS that’s been going around since he first won I think the consensus is that the world will quite literally implode if Trump wins again. Of course, there are many who felt equally panicked about the prospect of a Biden or Kamala presidency.
The main thing to understand is that this kind of emotionally driven propaganda works and here we are.
Only the Decidedly Dim think, after 4+ years of the COVID 19 nonsense, that injecting substances designed to make one ill, even if only slightly, in in the vain attempt to give long term health, would be pro vaccine.
You are horribly misinformed. . . please dig a little deeper. You have fallen prey to the very successful smear campaign that has silenced this bright and interesting candidate.
You are horribly misinformed. . . please dig a little deeper. You have fallen prey to the very successful smear campaign that has silenced this bright and interesting candidate.
So, how do you explain previous changes in climate - mammoth farts? The hubris of people that a) claim humanity has the ability to cause climate change, b) think that humanity can stop it, and c) believe that it should be stopped staggers me. You are like frightened cavemen worrying that the ice-sheet is retreating.
We aren’t denying that climate changes. Just that humans are responsible or that it is an emergency. I suggest looking at Dr Judith Curry’s work and ignore the MSM dealings like Greta what’s her face.
You realize we only have accurate temperature measures for like 100 years right? If we look over the geologic span of the earth, it has actually been much, much warmer in the distant past. So new records every year when you have only been measuring and recording for a a tiny fraction of earth’s history is like nothing. You can’t tell anything from that small snapshot.
Now, we can use ice cores, and certain oxygen isotopes preserved in shells of marine organisms to calculate temperature from hundreds of millions of years ago, but these are both geographically constrained, so they are only getting a snapshot of earth temperature at specific locations— extrapolating that over the whole earth for a global temperature average requires a lot of guesswork. Recently scientists have been measuring oxygen isotopes from foraminifera, microorganisms that occur in across all altitudes and most water depths of the world’s oceans. But keep in mind that thermometers, ice cores, isotopes each measures slightly different things - atmosphere versus ocean, gases versus isotopes, temperatures hundreds of years ago versus temperatures millions of years ago, seasonal versus annual versus time-averaged temperatures - matching them up with one another and building one continuous record of temperature through Earth’s history is a difficult task. This problem becomes even harder as we move further back in time because our ability to assign an exact age to a measurement decreases.
So, we have a good ESTIMATE of what global temperature MAY have been in ages past, but our actual direct measurement of temperatures to form a good global average was really only possible within the last 140ish years. So any variation within the 140ish years of temperature data we have now must be (1) read into consideration of the whole timeline of global temperatures to compare with the caveat that (2) past global temperature data are estimates with error bars. Given that, we simply do not have the resolution form the past to directly compare the resolution we have currently on temperature. In other words, we don’t know if a hundred year uptick with new temp records each year is something unusual or within bounds of the global climate system, because past measurements don’t have the same resolution to look at each year for 140 years back in the Eocene, for example.
Therefore, saying we have “thousands of years of temperature records” is misleading.
No we have inferred temperature from geologic records. Not the same thing. The mercurial thermometer was only invented in 1714, it would take another hundred years or so until we had better measurements worldwide of temperature. Scientists didn't have enough data before 1880 to calculate average global temperatures. So only since about 1880 have we had anything like annual global temperature averages to record. That’s 144 years compared to Earth age of about 4.5 billion years. We have about 0.0000032% of average global temperature recordings that have ever occurred for our planet recorded. That’s minuscule.
Trump will do what Trump wants to do. Kamala will do whatever the party bosses want Kamala will do . Events in the Middle East , markets and the economy will determine the election.
Because Trump is clearly the better candidate, duh. Unless you like Woke politics and want the whole damn US to become like California. But for those of us who live in reality, we’d really preferred our border to be secure, our tax money to stop going to illegal aliens, our children to be left alone and not groomed to be trans while in school, our women to be save from biological men pretending to be women, our girls to be able to compete in sports without boys stealing their medals, our economy to be strong, our country to be energy independent, the antisemitism and racism to stop, meritocracy restored, and a strong leader to deterr our foreign enemies. Harris will do none of those things. So despite the “mean” things or stupid things he tweets, Trump is the better candidate purely on those policies.
I think it’s fair to “attack” candidates for president. It’s our civic responsibility to press our potential leaders and read their fine print. This notion that if someone is leveling a pretty valid critique they are somehow “attacking” seems like a dysfunctional expression of our political process. It would be more helpful to refute her points where you don’t agree. It helps every one else understand your thought process rather than leading with strong yet not well examined emotions.
I think she is beyond not being an “ideal” candidate. She comes across as so disingenuous that it makes Trump look way more capable that he is. That’s really saying something. In a country of this many people who apparently have such intense political opinions, this was really the best the democrats could put forward? This is exactly the kind of move that helped Trump get elected the first time. She is far and away worse than Hillary, in my opinion and I don’t think I’m alone in that.
You could see this coming when Abigail decided it was necessary to go on the vile Tucker Carlson's show to promote her excellent book on the trans fantasy. Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas. Shrier looks like she's headed down the same path as Brett Weistein and Jordan B. Peterson.
Do you listen much to Bret Weinstein or Jordan Peterson? You don’t have to agree with their conclusions but it’s hard to argue with their integrity, their willingness to be wrong and their desire to show their thinking so others can follow and disagree in earnest.
The admirable Brett Weinstein who stood up to racist wokeness at Evergreen and the stable and reasonable Jordan Peterson who would not give in to trans pronoun police are long gone. Audience capture and other factors that are harder to pin down have turned them into conspiratorial right-wing culture warriors.
Don't take my word for it. I invite you to listen to the rigorous and well-reasoned critiques of two academics, one Australian and the other Northern Irish, on their podcast "Decoding the Gurus." Brett is one of galaxy-brain gurus they discuss regularly. Jordan Peterson is also on their radar, though less often.
22 May 2021. Brett Weinstein & Heather Heying: Why are 'they' suppressing Ivermectin, the miracle cure?
This episode wasn't meant to be about Ivermectin, or Bret and Heather's unique ability to apply an 'evolutionary lens' to understand everything, including virology, epidemiology, immunology and the culture war... but it is.....
We meant to make a few topical comments prior to the main episode, but the comments led into some rants, and then with the clips, those rants metastasised into a full-sized episode. So the duo had to travel back in time to record a new introduction, and back again, forward this time, in time, to record the outro and it all got very complicated.
Anyway, it is what it is!
Bret and Heather are 95% sure that the COVID vaccines are like playing Russian Roulette with a loaded gun, and that the scientific and public health authorities are lying to everyone, and we would be better off avoiding these risky vaccines and taking Ivermectin instead. Bret even demonstrates how to swallow a pill live on air. But they are not anti-vax! No not at all. They're not conspiracy theorists either! Of course they're not. Conspiracy hypothesisers, maybe... but there is a crucial distinction there. Either way they have concerns, and Matt and Chris have concerns with their concerns.
4 June 2021. Bret Weinstein & Jordan Peterson: Two gargantuan intellects stare into the abyss
The big dog of the Intellectual Dark Web, Jordan Peterson, is back! And this hero, this mythical archetype, is welcomed back from his long hiatus by DTG regular, Bret Weinstein . To his credit, Bret does the impossible and makes Jordan seem surprisingly humble and reflexive simply by virtue of comparison.
The duo cover a lot of territory, ranging from hot takes about how hospitals probably kill more people than they save (Peterson), the evolutionary modules controlling rape and genocide (Weinstein), how religion contains the ultimate evolutionary cheatsheet to ascend the hierarchy (Peterson), and how they are both absolutely crucial for understanding everything wrong with what's going on these days (BOTH).
So yes... Chris and Matt couldn't resist returning to this epic crossover of two guru favourites one last(?) time for a bit of decoding. There's a heaping of the usual trademark guru dynamics on display, as well as the obligatory ersatz academ-ese, mutual back-patting, and huge leaps of speculative reasoning. These guys ping-pong back and forth to build up a pretty impressive synthesis of latent religious symbols and Bret's bespoke alternative evolutionary theory of 'lineage selection'.
You will come away with your brain a smouldering ruin after dealing with so many high level ideas... you have been warned!
P.S. If you make it all the way to the end you'll get to hear Matt DESTROY a so-called philosopher's Low Quality Criticism with REASON and SCIENCE.
27 August 2021 Special Episode: Welcome to Weinstein World with special guest David Pizarro
The Weinstein brothers have been busy bees over the past few weeks/months(!) and it left Matt and Chris with a conundrum. How do they cover them as part of an intro segment without it turning into a five hour podcast?
The solution was to make a two hour stand alone special episode purely dedicated to exploring the wonders (and shivering at the occasional horrors) as we try to map the terrain of Weinstein World. To help us navigate the alien geography and provide a 'relatively normal person' sanity check we have enlisted the help of the famed psychologist, David Pizarro, also known for co-hosting Very Bad Wizards (a small, upcoming ghost-hunting/philosophy podcast).
Together with David we decode ancient mysteries, like why does Eric always wear a jacket?, we solve deep existential puzzles, like whether vodka can cure all conflicts, and we ponder heretofore unimagined possibilities, like how successful an audiobook of Fifty Shades of Grey read by Sam Harris and Heather Heying would be.
So we hope you will join us on this exploration and remember our core message: *You do not have to promote anti-vaccine rhetoric & unproven miracle cures during a global pandemic*
26 March 2024 Mini-Decoding: The Descent of Jordan B. Peterson
We take a look at a recent conversation between Jordan Peterson and the streamer Steven Bonnell (AKA Destiny) and use the opportunity to reflect on Jordan's journey as a public intellectual and guru.
We consider how his stances have changed, whether he is more extreme now than when he emerged or if it is just his presentation style that has shifted. Along the way, we look at his demon-infested understanding of the COVID-19 vaccines, his climate change denialism, and address the unresolved question of the ages: Were the Nazis actually right-wing?
I’m open to arguments critiquing points they’ve made. I don’t appreciate the general level of snark and smug condescension. This is sort of my problem with most commentary these days is that I’m happy to take the facts and come to my own conclusions. That level of snark is really just pandering to people who already agree and frankly, it feels like they have an animus that goes beyond disagreement with their ideas.
I happen to agree, based on what I’ve seen since Covid began, with many of their assessments. The anti-vaxxer blanket statement is tossed around all the time. It means nothing. People have the right to question pharmaceuticals. Questioning one vaccine usually leads to further research and many times people find themselves questioning the whole program….which is reasonable at this point! Perhaps we don’t agree there.
Listen, I started out my life as a normal ass middle class kid raised by parents who did “all the right things.” What I’ve experienced in my own life tells me it’s prudent to turn over all the stones, even if everyone else wishes you would shut up. That’s the read I get from this podcast that seems to spend a lot of time accusing people they don’t agree with of being crazy.
I chose to vote for the candidate that best represents policies that reflect the direction I want to see the country go in. Policies that protect our national security, increases community safety, maximizes excellence in schools, reduces border crossings, stops the failure of communities to cooperate with ice, protects parental rights, and ends government censorship and forced speech.
If this were still the pre-Trump GOP I would consider voting Republican for the first time. I would vote for a Romney, a Haley, a Liz Cheney, a Chris Christie, but not Trump. Trump is power-hungry, looking to overturn the entire Executive branch to get rid of any checks on his actions. He already controls the Supreme Court so that check is gone. He is in bed with far right fundamentalist Christians and happy to enable their agenda. Trump favors dictators like Putin and Orban over democratically elected leaders. There is no way I could vote for him.
That group is the exact group who got us into this mess. IF Trump were truly the "power-hungry" monster you cast him to be he would have exerted himself during his first term. He didn't. Despite having a strict constructionist majority it has never voted as a singularity most issues before them.
And please --- stop disparaging Christians with a panoply of adjectives that you think are profound.
That group is the reason we got into this mess. You can hate Trump all you want but at least consider the possibility that your impressions are being steered by the media. His willingness to call out BS is both his biggest asset and flaw. Trump talks to dictators but doesn't act like them while Dems are on board with socialism in all its forms. I know the way I am comfortable going.
Gentle suggestion: take a break from listening to the Mango Moron and actually look at the policies being pushed by the Democratic party, and their effects on the ground. Not the advertising about what those policies SHOULD do, the actual effect of what they ARE doing.
This election we will have a distasteful choice. Make sure you check BOTH sides of the equation. Consider what is most important to you and go for whatever is the least bad in your eyes.
This election is not going to be decided by people who are enthusiastic about either option. There aren't enough of them to swing an election. This election will be decided by people who dislike both options, but vote anyway for whatever they consider the lesser of two evils.
When people are already voting between the lesser of two evils, screeching about how one side is evil goes into the "obvious" category.
I live in Seattle. Many policies have been passed intended to help people. I supported many of them. They've all gone sideways. We literally have people dying in the streets. It's heartbreaking.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Meaning well simply isn't enough.
Please remember that the eradication of the sparrow during China's Great Leap Forward was intended to help people. Look up how many people it killed.
I’m not talking about those policies… how bout something as simple as paid family leave? Expanding the child tax credit and a million other measures to reduce poverty and increase general well being.
Lolololol… yeah right. The admin that let in millions of illegals into our country? The admin that allowed the medical scandal of giving hormones and mutilating children in the name of trans ideology? That admin? You must be absolutely delusional to think this admin will be in the history books as “great.” Oh yes, such a great policy to let tax payer dollars go to illegal aliens. Oh yes great policy to mutilate children’s bodies when they aren’t old enough to consent. Oh yes, great policy to erase women’s sports. Oh yes, great policies to disregard parental rights so teachers can groom children into gender confusion at school. Oh yes great policies to defund the police and go soft on crime.
Oh Abigail… still spreading the border czar lie and producing a simplistic caricature of VP Harris. You down w electing a treasonous insurrectionist that speaks like a 4th grader? You down w a convicted felon who is a rapist? You down w Project 2025? You down w a guy whose entire platform is ‘woe is me?’ You down w 12 year old girls forced to give birth? I could go on and on but you’re concerned w the use of Latin X? And just in case you missed it as I sit here baking in NorCal w fires raging all around, perhaps we should start moving away from fracking.
You down with the sterilization and mutilation of 12 year olds? You down with locking women up with rapists? You down with medical conversion therapy for gay kids being mandated by the state? You down with the State kidnapping the children of dissidents?
The Guardian reports that the "Harris administration" will double down on keeping an open door for child gender mutilation under the guise of care for our transgender children.
haha...i love your condescending tone here as you call for nuance when you're initial post was the most 'un-nuanced' diatribe one could create. Let's take it one by one:
1) '...spreading the border czar lie'. It's not a lie. She was given the responsibility of the border issue by Biden and the media labeled her a border 'czar', which she didn't refute at the time. She has done nothing to improve the border
2) 'convicted felon'...you don't reference the lawfare campaign against Trump and the fact that the verdict is almost certainly to be reversed upon appeal as it was wrought with reversible error
3) 'rapist'...Trump has never been convicted of rape
4) 'Project 2025'...Trump has vocally disavowed, leading to the resignation of it's leader
5) 'entire platform is 'woe is me'...the GOP actually released it's platform, you should read it. But to your point, Dems/agencies spied on Trump, perpetrated the Russia lie which paralyzed his first term, raided his home, jailed his supporters, politically prosecuted him, he survived and assassination attempt, etc. etc. A little 'woe is me' is excusable in my opinion since Dems operate like 3rd world dictators.
6) Trump has pushed the party to moderate on social issues. A national abortion ban is no longer in the party platform. He supports exceptions for rape, incest, health of mother. Essentially, he's where most of the world is on abortion...America, on the other hand, is aligned with the most radical.
6) Did fracking directly cause your forest fires?
To put it another way, you are just another deranged liberal hypocrite who talks in mindless soundbytes and with zero intellectual curiosity. Your aim is to win at all costs...the country be damned. There are millions like you and you may triumph, but to our country's peril.
Reminder that we're no longer talking about the Biden administration, but the Harris administration. In addition, the idea that there's careful screening in pediatric gender clinics is laughably inaccurate. Take a look at some of the gender clinic whistleblower reports. Jamie Reed has written some excellent articles.
To end the trans madness, it will be necessary to change the hearts and minds of persuadable people on the center left. They're the ones who can vote out the politicians who have been captured by trans activists. However, anti-trans figures like Shrier and James Linsday are toxic to the very voters we need in order to stop and reverse trans activism and gender identity ideology.
Gender ideology is a religion with totalitarian ambitions. ANY heresy to the faith is considered unacceptable. Blasphemy is grounds for violence. There's been alarmingly successful efforts to criminalize public expressions of blasphemous ideas.
Of course, they don't use the words heresy or blasphemy. They use the words "bigot" and "transphobic." Other terms for blasphemy include "anti-trans" or "anti-LGBTQ."
No amount of courtesy will ever make blasphemy acceptable to true believers. That's just how religious fanaticism works.
If we want the middle to stop going along with this, we need to call it out as a religion. They are, of course, free to express their religion. They should not be permitted to write their religious doctrine into law.
Queer hegemony is not an improvement on Christian Nationalism. It has very similar social dynamics. An atheistic theocracy is still deeply oppressive.
I live in one. The Progress flag is displayed at every public building, school, and nearly every business. A bunch of heretics held a panel discussion in the Seattle Public Library in 2019 and the gender fanatics threatened to BOMB the library.
The imposition of the term Latinx by the left - to replace the terms Latino and Hispanic - was so offensive and rejected by the Latino population and Hispanics all over that it backfired on those who appropriated a culture they claim to understand. Why do you think this year business and governmental agencies reverted back to using Hispanics and Latino? Abigail is on target with this observation!
And, you down w girls (and boys), 12 yrs old (and under) being trafficked, sold, raped, tortured, and murdered thanks to our open borders under the Harris/Biden (and de facto Obama) administration?
There's a vast moral difference between opposing the progressive gringo frankenword "Latinx" and wanting to see Trump in the Oval Office again.
I am a centrist Democrat who never passes up an opportunity to criticize "Latinx" and "Latine" because they are a hypocritical manifestation of woke cultural imperialism.
Electing Trump to quash "Latinx" and put an end to the trans madness is like burning down the house because the roof leaks.
There are persuadable people on the left who will listen to Democrats but refuse to hear Shrier and other pro-Trumpists.
Nobody is talking about electing Trump to defeat the woke term Latinx because it was already dead in arrival; that’s why it was short-lived. Nothing moral about it, businesses and woke government agencies realized that it was a terrible move on their part that backfired on them.
I can’t speak for persuadable people on the left, but I trust that those on the center - or even on the left - will defer to their critical thinking skills to discern facts propaganda. I share Abigail Shrier’s books and articles with my friends, relatives, and even some acquaintances. Most of them find her enlightening. I assume that is the case with you, hence why are found here commenting on her work.
Obama was known as the ‘deporter in chief.’ But the talking points are cute. BTW….borders crossings are a 3 year low. And if you really want to understand the enormity of the problem, I can set you up w trip through Mexico all the way to Ecuador. All expenses paid!
The overwhelming influx of newcomers, during these last couple of years, is obvious in every single corner of the U.S. We see entire families, who can’t speak to the cashiers in English, with full shopping carts and paying cash for household items. According to your statement, they must have been in the hiding for the past three years, and just came out recently. They are obviously coming in our country through our open borders that, besides land, include our maritime and air spaces. We have seen signs at airports where certain people are encouraged to pass through without passport nor any type of documentation. Moreover, they are not even asked for facial recognition. Many of these “families” are groups with children. In fact, many of these children are unrelated to each other and are accompanied by only a couple of adults.
This all sounds like mean spirted Trumpist conspiracy-making. Sad!
Some 120 years ago the immigrant European ancestors of millions of Americans, including many on the MAGA side, couldn't speak English to cashiers. So what? Their great grandkids sure can.
And how bizarre to criticize immigrants for having "full shopping carts and paying cash for household items." I thought what was good for business is good for America, and what's better than a full shopping cart? At least they're paying for it, unlike the American-born shoplifters who are making supermarkets put their inventory under lock and key.
I wasn’t referring to people who have immigrated here through proper channels because they are the ones who can be found working in all levels of our economy, as well as paying taxes. Of course, you already knew that, but I guess couldn’t pass an opportunity to virtue signal.
The taxes generated by citizens and immigrants who work are being used by the Biden administration to subsidize the newcomers who, without even holding a job, are found buying unlimited amount of staples, and household items - which in this economy are are considered a luxury to many.
The law breakers you allude to are found plenty among those who were trained to leach others their entire life through socialist programs or systems. California is a good example of that, and that is why many families are fleeing to other states, but Kamala Harris wants to turn the U.S. into another California. Go figure!
Although the Obama and the Clintons are a part of the brains behind child trafficking, the Biden/Harris administration made an official business out of it, using our tax payer money to fund it.
It appears that you might have read Abigail’s article, but failed to comprehend it. Focusing on ad-hominem labeling robs your argument from any point you are attempting to make. By doing so, you are mimicking the “orange” guy, in your intent to mock him.
LeonM, those are all excellent questions to which Shrier owes the public answers. For that matter, why did she need to consort with the abominable Tucker Carlson by going on his show to promote her excellent book on the trans disaster?
Do you think that the name calling adds to the conversation? I'm sure that Trump doing that drives you nuts, yet you do it yourself. Why not just say, "But Trump loved the polls a few weeks ago. Now, they are suddenly 'fake'". Sounds better to me.
everything you say is true
but is it enough for democrats to wake up to the fact that this is not the old democrats party or that their trump derangement was a poison that was fed to them?
i am not sure. i live in the disgusting state of california and the state of peoples ignorance is phenomenal. no amount of reason can penetrate the brainwashed people here . i hope your words resonate
Fed to them? Just watch and listen to the Orange POS.
Stop.
Stop what?
And apparently no amount of facts or reasonable arguments can penetrate the brainwashed minds on the MAGA right. What are we going to do?
i have an idea.
be quiet, sit back and watch your stock go up, your crime go down and general clean up happen on the world stage
that is what you can do
Well since Lefties tend to play in alternative reality where boys can become girls, it does become hard to believe anything you say as actual “facts.” So… is MAGA brainwashed? Or just perhaps they live in actual reality while everyone else have fallen into LaLa Land. When you can’t tell me what a woman is, you don’t get to claim that you have facts and reason I your side.
Good analysis here Abigail. Republicans can rant on her DEI hire , her ethnicity , her sleeping her way to power . It might all even be true. Yes it’s frustrating that so many forgot just how bad of a candidate she was four years ago in those primaries.
I agree

Shrier is right. But will Trump/Vance listen? I wouldn't bet on it.
Exactly

Thank you, but I am going to remain a little more positive and not put him in the past tense yet.
Fair enough! I hope my pessimism is misplaced. Honestly, I’ve been surprised before.
He’s a moron. An antivaxxer. And he appears to have throat cancer.
I’m not going to be part of the problem here - and I’m going to respond in a kind way. Please be more informed and a little kinder.
Not a fan of RFK Jr. but do appreciate your response to DM.
Thank you.
He's a socialist --- there will be no unification around a socialist.
He isn’t a socialist. Not by any criterion.
In Trumpworld, everyone who's not for Trump is variously a socialist, communist or fascist.
My current thought is to vote for RFK.
Great idea…bear cub, brain worm, entire family has denounced him. Sexual harasser…
You are horribly misinformed. . . please dig a little deeper. You have fallen prey to the very successful smear campaign that has silenced this bright and interesting candidate.
Sounds like you've OD'd on moon dust . . .
I stopped reading at. “Climate fundamentalism.”
Every year sets a new record. To dismiss AGW as a “left wing” issue is psychotic.
Climates change. Humans have nothing to do with it.
You are an ignorant idiot
Well, that was enlightening. And oh so pithy.
I can calculate an absorption spectrum. You don’t even know what it means.
Actually I do and it's irrelevant to the topic. But you go right ahead being nasty and thinking that you're brilliant. I can't be bothered any longer.
Is that right, aye? How come I'm writing this from a place that was under a mile of ice just 15000 years ago, then?
15,000 years of global warming. Thats a lot of warming. Must have been the sun.
It was the withdrawal of an ice age.
When is the next one?
What’s your point?
The increases we’re seeing now have happened before, yes, but over tens or hundreds of thousands of years; we are seeing them happening over decades.
Life doesn’t have time to adapt.
Earth had greened 20% since 2000, so maybe the warming isn’t a disaster like they tell us it is.
Try to make the group a little smarter…. Please.
Point to the fallacy in my statement.
‘HuMaNs HaVe NoThInG tO dO WiTh iT.’ That was easy.
Your ignorance, considering the wealth of data on this issue, is truly staggering.
No point engaging with climate-change denialists. It's like trying to tell Chase Strangio that gender isn't real.
We aren’t denying that climate changes. Just that humans are responsible or that it is an emergency. I suggest looking at Dr Judith Curry’s work and ignore the MSM dealings like Greta what’s her face.
I hope that newcomer creep isn’t allowed on planes. I mean JESUS CHRIST!!
As if we need more than a few decades of measurement to know we’re in deep shit.
Are you nuts?
We have thousands of years of temperature records. Like a hundred millennia. Tree rings for example.
Go away. Go yell at your television.
I am so deeply disappointed in this attack on Harris.
She may not be the ideal candidate, but she is NOT Trump.
This post effectively endorses him.

Episode 17.
So enjoy this very special 'meta' episode.

Episode 18.

Bonus

Episode 98

Well that was a lot.
Policies that protect our national security, increases community safety, maximizes excellence in schools, reduces border crossings, stops the failure of communities to cooperate with ice, protects parental rights, and ends government censorship and forced speech.
good analysis. thank you
If this were still the pre-Trump GOP I would consider voting Republican for the first time.
Steered by the media….ffs…. Just listen to the Mango Moron. There’s nothing there except an empty vessel eager to be steered by religious fanatics.
You mean policies that are intended to help people?
I live in Seattle. Many policies have been passed intended to help people. I supported many of them. They've all gone sideways. We literally have people dying in the streets. It's heartbreaking.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Meaning well simply isn't enough.
Please remember that the eradication of the sparrow during China's Great Leap Forward was intended to help people. Look up how many people it killed.
I’m not talking about those policies… how bout something as simple as paid family leave? Expanding the child tax credit and a million other measures to reduce poverty and increase general well being.
vessel????
from the party that duped you into a senile shell and now a lying chameleon!!
come visit us in california for a full and interrupted installment of this crap.
And yet, the senile shell’s team has been very effective and will go down as one of the best admins ever.
Please, elaborate on what exactly do you think Biden admin was “effective” on?
Precisely. Thank you.
All the options are shitty.
Uh no and to say this is part of the Harris platform is a bit disingenuous.
Actually it is spot on accurate if you pay attention to what is actually happening.
The Guardian reports that the "Harris administration" will double down on keeping an open door for child gender mutilation under the guise of care for our transgender children.
Well John, as in most things in life, it’s a bit more nuanced.
https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jul/17/biden-administration-transgender-surgeries-minors
haha...i love your condescending tone here as you call for nuance when you're initial post was the most 'un-nuanced' diatribe one could create.
This is rich. And you’re wrong about nearly everything in your ludicrous rant.
Queer hegemony….😂
I live in one. The Progress flag is displayed at every public building, school, and nearly every business. A bunch of heretics held a panel discussion in the Seattle Public Library in 2019 and the gender fanatics threatened to BOMB the library.
Very inclusive. Much kindness.
That’s a bit extreme.
Go figure!
You really think that problem started w oPeN BoRdErS? 🤦🏻
Started with... of course not.. just massively accelerated by the follies of Harris/Biden.
And yet he’s deported recorded numbers.
Only to those who are math challenged
https://www.yahoo.com/news/biden-era-deportations-down-sharply-202219722.html
Although the Obama and the Clintons are a part of the brains behind child trafficking, the Biden/Harris administration made an official business out of it, using our tax payer money to fund it.
Ah, there’s our Russian bot or qanon participant.
Lol! And, what bot do you “identify” as?
It appears that you might have read Abigail’s article, but failed to comprehend it. Focusing on ad-hominem labeling robs your argument from any point you are attempting to make. By doing so, you are mimicking the “orange” guy, in your intent to mock him.
LeonM, those are all excellent questions to which Shrier owes the public answers. For that matter, why did she need to consort with the abominable Tucker Carlson by going on his show to promote her excellent book on the trans disaster?
🙄🙄🙄
Oy LeonX
Telling the truth with journalistic integrity is different from being a shill spouting hyperbolic talking points.
There's precious little of the former here and far too much of the latter.
Fake polls. A few people might be dumb enough to fall for the hype, but most of those are TikTok brained morons who won’t be voting anyway.
But Orange Marmalade loved the polls a few weeks ago. Now, they are suddenly ‘fake.’
Do you think that the name calling adds to the conversation? I'm sure that Trump doing that drives you nuts, yet you do it yourself. Why not just say, "But Trump loved the polls a few weeks ago. Now, they are suddenly 'fake'". Sounds better to me.
I do, that pos deserves every hilarious name that mocks him.
